Tewkesbury Town Regatta
It's the time of year, when we have a little fun, aided by the fun and friendly sailing club at Tewkesbury. This year we are combining our event with their general regatta, which means there will be even more social fun.
Notice to Mariners
WARNING
On Saturday 8th September and Sunday 9th September 2018,
International 2.4mR sail-boats will be navigating The Great Ditch (sometimes called the River Avon, Tewkesbury) taking part in the 95th Tewkesbury Town Regatta.
Vessels are warned to keep clear and avoid collision at all cost.
Programme of events
Friday 7th September PM; Boats may arrive, rigged and can be sailed or towed to landing stage
Friday 7th September, 19.30; Regatta Cheese and Wine Party. (smart casual please) or go into Tewkesbury to the many restaurants for an evening meal
Saturday 8th September AM; Boats may arrive, rigged and can be sailed or towed to landing stage
Saturday 8th September PM; Tewkesbury Town Regatta, Woodfin Cup, for single handed craft. A full 2 hour (nominal) pursuit race. Int. 2.4mR will sail of PY of 1240 and should be first away
Saturday 8th September 19.30 till late; Commodores Party, fancy dress if you want, theme, What you were wearing when the boat went down. Hot food on sale
Sunday 9th September;. Breakfast will be served in the club house until 09.30
Sunday 9th September; Boats may arrive, rigged and can be sailed or towed to landing stage
Sunday 9th September AM and PM. Three races for the Tewkesbury Town Regatta, Regatta Cup, Regatta Shield and Regatta Plate. All races are 1 hour nominal pursuit races for both single and 2 man boats . 2.4mR will again sail off PY of 1240 and should be first away
1 discard is allowed from the two days for Regatta champion. If you only race Sunday, all 3 to count
Sunday 9th September PM; Prize giving and competitors tea
Prizes to 3 places in all 4 races and special prices for 2.4mR on weekends results
Free parking for caravans and motor homes, free camping. Bar open from Friday evening until the last person leaves on Sunday. Galley open from Friday evening through to competitors tea. Hot food Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning, Food and drinks available all day Saturday and Sunday
Disabled ramp access to club house, disabled toilet accommodation at ground level, improved wheel chair access to landing stage. There is no hoist from landing stage into craft.

This is an Open meeting and all dinghy's and small cruisers with a PY are invited to compete
