Dutch Nationals

W.v Aegir

Once again we travelled to this event, with the aim of sailing well and having fun. It’s fair to say that we all achieved the latter, whilst some sailed better than others. Congratulations have to go to Nev Millard who finished 2nd British boat out of 6... no guessing who was first. A fantastic achievement.

Thanks to W.V. Aegir, Tony and his band of helpers who did us proud. Nothing was too much trouble and the food and drink - there was plenty. The winds on the sailing area where fickle and shifty. On the Saturday, racing was abandoned after 2 races as the wind died, that left us time for a scenic trip around the canal, before a delicious BBQ in the evening.

Meg again did us proud, not letting any one get a look in until the Sunday, when she let someone else have a chance. With two discard, she once again finished with a nice picket fence to count. Apparently it is tradition for the winner of the Dutch Nationals to take a plunge. With the weather fair and warm, Meg was happy to oblige.
